FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:  Are you accepting new patients?

A:  Yes, we welcome new patients.

Q:  How long does it take to get a sick appointment with Dr. Pinto?

A:  We try to see all sick patients on the same day, however, in some instances it may be the next day. We do not take walk-ins so please call before coming to the office.

Q:  Will I have to wait hours in your waiting room?

A:  Dr Pinto prides himself on running on time, however, the uncertainty of certain illnesses may put us slightly behind schedule.  In addition, we do not “double book” appointments so our wait time is usually no longer than 15 minutes past your scheduled appointment time.

Q:  How do we contact the doctor after hours?

A:
Our providers are available 24 hours a day. Call the office at (856) 931-6950. There will be a number on the answering machine to allow you to contact the doctor on call. It will either be DR Pinto or one of his covering doctors.   Please be aware that after-hours calls are intended for urgent medical issues that cannot wait until the next business day. Referral and appointment requests will not be addressed under any circumstances. If you do not hear from the doctor in 30 minutes, please call the answering service again.

Q:  How often should I schedule a checkup?

A:  The American Medical Association recommends annual "well" visits yearly. A well visit may be a checkup or a complete exam, and provides an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more about various health issues. Dr Pinto may also order important age-appropriate screenings at this time. Periodic follow-up visits are also recommended for patients who have chronic health conditions.

Q:  How do I see a specialist?

A:  For non-urgent referrals: when Dr Pinto refers you to a specialist, please schedule your appointment with the specialist. Within 1-2 days your referral will be done electronically and submitted directly to the specialist's office. Please check with our office staff to determine if your insurance plan processes referrals electronically.
For urgent referrals: when Dr Pinto determines that you need an urgent referral, your referral will be initiated immediately. Please remain in our office while your referral is processed, then proceed to your specialist.

Q:  Do you accept my health insurance plan?

A:  Please refer to our insurance page for a list of many of the common insurances we accept. We do not accept Medicaid or any form of Medicaid.

  1. Do you accept Medicare?
  2. Yes, we certainly do. We are very experienced in dealing with Medicare.

Q:  When will I receive lab or test results?

A:  You will receive a call right away with any lab results that require urgent attention. Other abnormal lab results will be addressed in a timely fashion by Dr Pinto or the staff during normal business hours. Turn-around time on most labs is 24 - 48 hours. If you don’t hear from us, kindly give us a call to check on the results.

Q:  How do I obtain a prescription refill?

A:  All requests should be during normal business hours. Please allow one business day for all routine prescription refills. Some refills require authorization from your insurance company and may take as long 5-7 days to be refilled, so please plan your refills accordingly. Prescription refills for controlled substances such as pain medications are refilled Monday through Friday only. Please do not call on the weekend for refills.
